How to get your watch history file
Get the file from Google Takeout
- 1.Go to takeout.google.com and sign in
- 2.Click "Deselect all", then find and select "YouTube and YouTube Music"
- 3.Click "All YouTube data included" → deselect everything except "history"
- 4.Click "Next step" → Create export → Download when ready
Find the watch history file
- 1.Unzip the downloaded Takeout archive
- 2.Navigate to Takeout/YouTube and YouTube Music/history/
- 3.Upload the file called "watch-history.html" here
- 4.Works with both old and new Takeout HTML formats
No. Your file is parsed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.
Inside the Google Takeout ZIP, navigate to: Takeout / YouTube and YouTube Music / history / watch-history.html.
The CSV includes: watched timestamp (ISO), video title, video ID, full YouTube URL, channel name, channel URL, and whether the video has been removed.
Removed videos are included in the CSV with a "removed: true" flag, so you still have a record that you watched something even if the video is gone.
The Takeout file includes your full YouTube watch history as far back as Google has stored it — often years. The CSV will include everything in the file.
