Google Takeout lets you download your full YouTube watch history as an HTML file. Here is how to get it.
Step-by-step:
1. Go to takeout.google.com and sign in with the Google account you use for YouTube.
2. Click "Deselect all" to start with nothing selected.
3. Scroll down to "YouTube and YouTube Music" and check the box next to it.
4. Click the "All YouTube data included" button that appears below the checkbox.
5. In the panel that opens, click "Deselect all" again, then check only "history".
6. Click "OK" to close the panel.
7. Click "Next step" at the bottom of the page.
8. Choose:
- Export type: "Export once"
- File type: .zip
- File size: 2 GB (or larger if you have a very long watch history)
9. Click "Create export". Google will prepare the file and email you when it is ready — usually within a few minutes.
10. Download the ZIP file from the email or from takeout.google.com.
11. Unzip the file. Navigate to: Takeout → YouTube and YouTube Music → history.
12. Find the file "watch-history.html". Upload it to the YouTube Watch History → CSV tool.
What the export contains:
- Title of each video you watched
- Channel name
- Date and time you watched it
- A link to the video
What it does NOT contain:
- Videos you watched while logged out
- Watch history you deleted from your YouTube account
- Exact watch position or how much of each video you watched
Note: if your watch history is paused (a YouTube setting), Google will not include it in the export. Re-enable it in myaccount.google.com/activitycontrols if needed.
