You should try that first. Google offers a vCard export and Apple imports multi-contact vCards. This tool is for files that Apple rejects or for people who want to identify risky cards before importing.

It writes vCard 3.0 boundaries, decodes supported quoted-printable UTF-8 text, normalizes legacy type parameters, adds missing FN or N fields when they can be derived, and converts yearless birthdays to the convention Apple Contacts uses.

Cards using a version that cannot be safely downgraded, malformed properties, invalid birthdays, unsupported embedded photo formats, photos over 224 KB, and cards over 256 KB are excluded from the main import bundle.

Supported embedded JPEG, PNG, GIF, and BMP photos are preserved when they fit Apple's documented limits. Oversized or unsupported photos are not silently removed; the entire card is isolated for review.

No. The label fields remain in the vCard where possible, but Apple says imported vCards are added to All Contacts. Apple lists must be organized separately after import.
