How to get your Facebook birthdays for import

The recommended method is to download the Facebook birthday calendar as an .ics file. This works reliably even when Facebook's page layout changes. Method 1 — iCal file (recommended): Facebook provides a birthday calendar subscription link that exports all your friends' birthdays as a standard .ics file. 1. On Facebook desktop, go to facebook.com/events/birthdays and sign in. 2. Look for a calendar icon, "Subscribe" button, or a link that mentions "add to calendar" or "export" near the upcoming birthdays section. The exact wording varies by region and account type. 3. If you find a subscribe link, right-click it and save the .ics file to your computer. Alternatively, copy the link and paste it into your browser address bar, then save the file that downloads. 4. Upload the .ics file to the Facebook Birthdays → Calendar tool using the "iCal file" tab. The tool strips the "'s Birthday" label from each event and re-exports the list with proper yearly recurrence and optional reminders. Method 2 — Paste text (fallback): If you cannot find an iCal option on your account: 1. Go to facebook.com/events/birthdays in your browser. 2. Scroll down to load all upcoming birthdays. 3. Press Ctrl+A (Windows) or Cmd+A (Mac) to select all text, then Ctrl+C / Cmd+C to copy. 4. In the Missing Features tool, click the "Paste text (fallback)" tab and paste the copied text. Note: Facebook has moved to a month-view calendar for most accounts. If you only see profile photos and no text names, the paste-text method may not capture all birthdays. The iCal method is more reliable.
