How to export your Pocket reading list

Pocket (also known as Read It Later) lets you export all your saved articles as an HTML file. Here is how to get that file before the service shuts down or you cancel your account. How to export from Pocket: 1. Go to getpocket.com/export in your browser. Make sure you are signed into your Pocket account. 2. Click the "Export HTML file" button. A file called "ril_export.html" will download immediately. 3. That file contains your full reading list — both unread articles and your archive (read articles). It includes titles, URLs, tags, and the date each article was saved. What the export file contains: - Article title and URL - Tags you applied - Date saved - Whether each article is unread or in your archive What it does NOT contain: - The article text itself (Pocket only saves the URL, not a copy of the content) - Any notes or highlights you made on articles - Articles from collections or shared lists you don't own Upload the ril_export.html file to the Pocket → Markdown tool to convert your reading list into organized Markdown files for Obsidian, Notion, or any other notes app. Note on timing: Mozilla announced Pocket will shut down in July 2025. Export your list as soon as possible — once the service closes, your data will no longer be accessible through any official channel.
